Discussion Sessions

Join us and other leading retailers for a discussion (over good food, of course) about the key challenges facing fashion retailers today and how technology can help. There will be case studies, data insights and demonstrations of innovative solutions alongside the discussions.

Tuesday 6th November

12:30-14:00 – RFID - a driver for change in retail, hosted by Zebra and Tyco

Join Zebra and Tyco for a discussion on how technological and economic disruption is forcing retailers to make significant changes to the way they manage their business. Alongside this, customers are shifting online and challenging traditional retailers to offer seamless experiences regardless of the channel. RFID is one technology that offers far more than just an improved way to count stock. This discussion session will explore the challenges driving retailers to change and examine how retailers are adopting RFID to drive real business and customer experience benefits.

17:00-18:30 – The Checkout – can we have it all?, hosted by Ecrebo and Diebold Nixdorf

The checkout experience is undergoing a transformation – customers want something that’s slick and convenient, retailers need to reduce costs, maximise selling space and prevent loss of valuable stock. Grocers continue to add self-checkout into their mix. But what should fashion retailers do, particularly when de-tagging garments adds complexity to the process? And how do retailers retain a more personal connection to customers and use the checkout to build loyalty by engaging their customers with relevant promotions, when there are fewer staff at the checkout?

Join Ecrebo and Diebold Nixdorf for a discussion about the challenges and opportunities for the fashion checkout. We will share case studies and data-driven insights from retailers like M&S, Zara and Arcadia and demonstrate some brand new technology that can significantly improve the customer’s checkout experience. You will be joined by a select group of colleagues from other leading fashion retailers facing similar challenges for what will be an engaging discussion.

Wednesday 7th November

08:00-09:30 – Stores, saving more than just sales, hosted by Pyramid and Diebold Nixdorf

As retailers extend the choice available to customers online with more extensive ranges than their stores can carry in stock, saving the sale for those 'not in stock' lines becomes more critical for customer satisfaction and of course, retailer’s tight financials. Pyramid and Diebold Nixdorf will host a discussion with leading retailers about how technology can provide customers with an engaging store experience that leads to sales. New technologies will be demonstrated that help customers and staff whilst in the store either in a self-service or assisted-service way to improve conversion rates and prevent walkaways.

13:00–14:00 – The evolving role of the store within ecommerce, hosted by Doddle and Diebold Nixdorf

Join Doddle and Diebold Nixdorf for a discussion around the evolving role of the store within ecommerce. With online shopping habits constantly increasing we will discuss how to the role of the physical store can still benefit from online spending. Sharing case studies and data driven insights from industry giants such as Marks & Spencer & Debenhams, Doddle will demonstrate the benefits of instore collections and returns and how they can utilise instore fulfillment.
